Krause - Annapurna Splitomat (Splitting Machine)

The technique of splitting machines has been developed in the past years mainly in two direction :To obtain a higher degree of splitting precision, i.e. a better material economy. The knife guidesa and grinding systems have been improved. In addition, the machines were designed to be more adaptable to structural differences of to be split.
To facilitate handling. Adjustments to be made during splitting can be done without much effort ; precision measuring and indigator instruments facilitate quality inspection.

The well - proved and time - tested constructional features of SPLITOMAT - design meet all requirements of modern splitting techniques.

KNIFE AND KNIFE GUIDE

The band-knife of top manufacture is conducted in knife guide plates of hardened fine stainless steel. The knife advance plates reinforced with highly wear-resistant hard metal support the back of the knife while advancing the knife as it wears off ; these functions are automatically controlled by an electric knife scanner (non-contact approximation inItiators). This same control system makes the knife disks advance automatically. The knife disks have a stop edge, run in roller bearings, allows for an adjustment of the cuttingwidth and are adjustable height supported to compensate for ultrations that might be caused when reworking worn knife discs. There is electrically controlled hydraulic knife tensioning. The knife is driven by means of one of the two knife wheels, the drive can be switched to run either clockwise or counterclockwise. Knife can be quickly and easily replaced in forward direction.

GRINDING DEVICE

The grinding device is safely attached to the lefthand bottom side and can be easily moved towards the knife from above. The upper and lower knife bevels can be adjusted separately. A new design of approximation system keeps bevel lenghts uniform even while grinding discs wear off and become smaller.

COUNTER PRESSURE AND FEEDING SYSTEMS

The articulated roller, composed of brass rings and stainless steel fixtures following loosely, is supported on a rubber roller of large diameter, running in roller bearings, that can be lowered by means of a lever. Both can easily be removed in forward direction as the cast iron table is displaceable and can be removed without effort. The surface of the fine stainless steel feeding roller is either fluted for splitting limed material or smooth for chrome splitting. The infinitely variable feeding drive is additional equipped with a cascade connection (1:2) allowing for decelerated transport while the material to be split is being intorduced.

THICKNESS SETTINGS

The feeding roller is fixed in a head traverse resistant to bending with magnet suspension. Build in pressure springs prevent tolerances in bearings and setting devices affecting splitting precision. There are push-button-controlled electric and hydraulic adjusting drives and precision measuring and indicator instruments for the following adjustments:

  •  Setting of splliting thickness.
  • Thickness setting of a preselected value during splitting (head raising) .
  • Profile adjustments for variable splitting thickness in the flanks.
  • Inclination for splliting sides.
  • Head can be lifted for cleaning purposes.

PROTECTION DEVICES GUARANTEE OPERATIONAL SAFETY

WITH FRAMES AND TRAVERSES OF CAST IRON THE MACHINES IS MOUNTED ON A BASE FRAME TO FORM A COMPACT UNIT. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH COMPLETE ELECTRIC INSTALLATION INCL. CIRCUIT BREAKER AND ALL NECESSARY FUSES.
