This machine works on the approved pin wheel system. It can be used for measuring with highest accuracy, both thin and thick leathers without any readjustment of the machine. In the operation of the machine, the hide to be measured is passed between and in contact with the pin wheels and a circumferentially grooved roller. Every pin, which , by contact with the leather, becomes depressed into the rim of the pin wheel, actuates a small star wheel which in turn operates the adding mechanism by means of a worm gear. All the models have their dials directly in front of the operator's eyes so that the measuring results can be read of easily and correctly. All the three models are provided with a revolving dial, well covered, leaving only a small window opening.

Suitable lightining arrangement is made for easy and correct reading. We also manufacture the measuring machine with a stationary dial and movable pointer. An important feature of this machine is the manner in which the dial is return to zero. This does not take place abruptly, but evenly owing to the system of retarding mechanism which protects the entire system against damage. Ensured reliability of smooth working is obtained as the hubs of the cam levers are double their normal length and are seated upon two parallel shafts. By this arrangement, a through running of the measuring wheels and completely axial movement of the pins is ensured. Necessary provision is made with can levers for placing the pins under all circumstances in their correct working positions.
